Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This policy explains what information SeaShip News collects when you use www.seashipnews.com and the forwarder directory at app.seashipnews.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have a question about it, email operations@seashipnews.com.

What we collect

  • Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to SeaShip Forwarder Weekly, we collect your email address. We also record when you subscribed, the page you subscribed from, and the consent wording you agreed to.
  • Directory listings. If you sign in to app.seashipnews.com to submit or manage a forwarder listing, we collect your account details and the listing information you provide. Listing details are published in the public directory.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, to operate and secure the site.

How we use it

  • To send the newsletter you asked for, no more than about once a week.
  • To publish and manage forwarder listings.
  • To answer your questions and requests.
  • To keep the site running, secure, and free of abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

Newsletter emails

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. Our emails may record whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, so we can see what readers find useful. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so you are not added back by mistake.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the site and the newsletter. They process information only to provide their service to us:

  • Vercel hosts the public website.
  • Life Is Short (LISDIN) shows the newsletter signup box on our pages.
  • MemoUpdate hosts the newsletter signup form.
  • HeliumRises Connect manages the subscriber list and consent records.
  • Mailgun delivers the newsletter emails.

Cookies and local storage

The public news and directory pages do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The newsletter signup box keeps a small note in your browser's local storage, such as whether you closed it or already subscribed, so it is not shown to you again too soon. It also reports anonymous counts of when the box is shown, closed, or used, with no email address attached. The directory login at app.seashipnews.com uses a cookie to keep you signed in.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter records while you are subscribed, and the do-not-email entry after you unsubscribe. Listing information is kept while the listing is active. Messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing operations@seashipnews.com. We will reply within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
